“Failure” : Quote of the Day

“Failure” : Quote of the Day

My dad encouraged us to fail. Growing up, he would ask us what we failed at that week. If we didn’t have something, he would be disappointed. It changed my mindset at an early age that failure is not the outcome, failure is not trying. Don’t be afraid to fail.

Aw but dad,

“But isn’t failing to find a failure a success at finding something each new day to fail at?

Which, right dad, makes it impossible to ever find something to fail at based on the perimeters to always find something to fail at because every failure becomes a triumphant event?

And thus not finding something to fail at is a failure in logic which creates a failure to communicate a succinct advancing point and thus a thing of infinite failure and success at the same time which are two polar points that negate all meaning of either start position. So it cannot possibly be that one can find a thing to always fail at because everything is a success before attempting to fail at unless one has had a lawbotomy and logic is thrown to the wind.

Right, dad?

Thus I found something to fail in, which was not finding something to fail at, correct most loving dad?

Thus for the purpose of striving to find something to fail at I failed to find anything and thus have succeeded making failing something and not failing something actually a success at both ends? Right oh, patient dad?

Which means that it is impossible to fail if you approach failure from a position of learning, right humble dad? So, why old wise dad are you disappointed in me being unable to create an impossible event horizon?

So why do I have to go to my room dad? What if I fail at finding my room will that count as success at finding something to fail in?

I am going …I am going… …I promise not to become a prosecutor.”

At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. (Job 14:7)
