(insider.foxnews.com)—Joe DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said he believes former FBI Director James Comey, along with senior Justice officials in the Obama administration, “threw the case” against Hillary Clinton over her private email server.

On “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” DiGenova pointed out that not only was Comey’s draft statement on the Clinton email probe highly edited to play down the bureau’s findings, but that statement was drafted two months before Clinton and some of her top aides were even interviewed.

“Comey sold his soul to the devil,” DiGenova said, claiming that he has heard from current FBI agents who can’t believe what’s happened at the bureau in recent months.

He argued that the goal of biased FBI and Justice Department officials wasn’t just to exonerate Clinton, but to “frame” President Donald Trump, either for a crime or as a prelude to impeachment.

He pointed out that FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team after it was discovered that he’d exchanged anti-Trump, pro-Hillary Clinton text messages with a fellow agent.

DiGenova said the texts are “frightening,” with one that seemed to reference FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and an “insurance policy” against the prospect of a Trump presidency.

“They conspired to frame the incoming president of the United States, and it’s a frightening and disgusting prospect that FBI officials, senior FBI officials, would do this,” he said.

He dubbed it a “constitutional crisis” and called for Congress to stay on the case until the American people get answers.
