“….I lived in that white-hot period as a daily drug abuser, as a daily drinker, to my misery, boy that was a tough time,” Alec Baldwin, Nevertheless

(Romans 14:17)  For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

Righteousness..

Peace…

Joy…

…such are given to those who are members of God’s kingdom.

Lesson: Most people stumble over one new sin after another. Sometimes it is drink, sometimes it is drugs and sometimes it is pride. Either way most miss what God is all about – righteousness, peace and joy. If one surrenders to the righteousness of God they will be surprised, in spite of all the trials of following Jesus, just how much peace and joy there is – mighty surprised.

Bonus:  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)

(foxnews.com)—“I think I was one of the people who was lucky that it stuck, and therefore if I didn’t get it then, I would’ve got it eventually. I know that at that time, what I describe [in “Nevertheless”] — overdosing on drugs — which I’ve kept very private for years and years and years — I think I would have gotten it eventually. But, I’m glad I got it when I did [because] not many people get sober when they’re young.”
